GCAP supports legal tort reform that can improve the business climate by removing the threat of frivolous litigation, reducing insurance costs, and stabilizing prices to the consumer.

Mechanic’s Lien Law Reform
GCAP continues to work on closing the “double jeopardy” loop hole created by Act 52 of 2006. The State Senate has already unanimously passed legislation that recognizes that a contractor should not have to “pay twice” for the same work. GCAP is currently working with the key groups who have an interest in Mechanics’ Lien reform to move legislation forward in the State House that solves the double jeopardy problem.
